Western Digitech was created in 1994 to better serve the information technology needs of small and mid-size organizations in South Florida. The company was originally established as a standard IT repair company. The executive team of Western Digitech quickly learned that the requirements of small and mid-size businesses extend beyond the occasional implementation or migration. Western Digitech recognized three emerging trends that would effectively overcome the shortcomings of traditional network support provided by independent consultants, network integrators, part-time and/or dedicated IT resources. With the increased use of the Internet allowed for greater business-to-business connectivity, advanced remote monitoring tools made it possible for engineers to solve problems from any location, and the cost of network devices required to establish a secure internet connection was rapidly decreasing. These elements allowed Western Digitech to create a support plan that effectively met the various IT needs of small and mid-size businesses.
In 2000, Western Digitech began offering a comprehensive support package which included help desk services, on-site services, and remote monitoring and management services. This type of business computer support is commonly referred to as managed services; as such Western Digitech was now considered a top managed service provider (MSP) in the region.
